This piece uses my dissertation, ‘What’s so British about British Airways?’, as the catalyst and turns it into a vibrant screen printed design; which acts as a cover — wrapping around the publication of this essay.
The cover includes an excerpt of text from the introduction of the dissertation, however also features red overlays which represent different seating travel classes found across the British Airways fleet of aircraft. ‘8×4’ represents a travel class of 8 rows of seats by 4 columns of seats, for example.
Additionally, the category of travel class is depicted in midnight blue as a further layer — for example ‘WT’ for World Traveller, BA’s economy class — along with the aircraft type that each particular travel class originates from.
